JEDDAH — A couple of centuries and a 6-wicket haul were the highlight of the matches played in the Modern Pioneer Morning Summer Trophy at WPCA grounds here.
Emper Perfumes crushed Cousins-XI by 109 runs. Emper Perfumes racked up 219 for 4 as Usman smashed 50, Babar 66, Usman Jani 42 and Majed 24 not out. Cousins-XI was bundled out for just 110 as Aqeel scored 29, Irfan 24 and Zahid 21. Mehboob Shabbir grabbed 3-33, Abid 2-18 and Irfan 2-31.
Gujarat Eagles downed Awesome-XI by 17 runs. Gujarat Eagles produced 118 as Mukhtar scored 46 and Malik 21. Sameer took 3-26, Usman 2-18 and Abdullah 2-20. Awesome-XI, in reply, caved in for 101 with only Abdulbasit scoring 20. Ajmal was the wrecker-in-chief with 4 for 23.
New Young Stars thumped Mercedes Benz by 8 wickets. Mercedes Benz was bowled out for 139. Ilyas made 27, Jabran 25 and Amir 35. Abrar bowled devastatingly to grab 6-25 and Rafaqat 2-22. New Young Stars, the champion, was home (140) for the loss of 2 wickets in 70 balls as opener Amir Khan blasted 101 not out off 51 balls with 2 sixes and 17 fours.
Al-Mazroi punished Deloitte by 7 wickets. Deloitte crashed for 71. Abdullah scalped 3-10, Mubeen 2-8 and Sufiyan 2-16. Al-Mazroi reached 72 for 3 with 47 balls to spare as Mohsin stroked 30.
Harsco Baroom won its fourth straight match beating Jeddah Challengers by 16 runs. Harasco Baroom plundered 177 for 5 as Hasanat slammed an unbeaten 104 in 56 balls with 3 sixes and 11 fours. Anees claimed 3 for 25. Jeddah Challengers could manage only 161 for 6. Mohammed Akram scored 39, Rizwan 36 and Omar 36. Fahad Suleman took 3 for 34.
QRCC defeated Indian Knight Riders by 50 runs. QRCC piled up 157 for 8 as Amir hit 33, Yasir 20, Abdulrauf 22 and skipper Saleem Shaikh 27 not out. Feroz took 4 for 35. Indian Knight Riders was restricted to 107 as Zahid grabbed 5 wickets for 16 runs to demolish the IKR batting line up.
Nesma Holding downed Zamil Cool Care by 6 wickets. Zamil Cool Care was restricted to 118 for 9. Javeed scalped 3 for 14 and Zafar Iqbal 3 for 15. Nesma Hodling reached 121 for the loss of 4 wickets in 100 balls. Jawwad scored 57 and Sadaqat 20. Nazir took 2-24.
Ralco had the last laugh against ADI-XI by 121 runs. Ralco racked up 194 for 7 as Naeem remained unbeaten on 104 in 45 balls studded with 4 sixes and 13 fours. Azeem and Fazil returned figures of 2-34. Omar Mehfooz had 3 victims behind the stumps. ADI-XI was bundled out for 73 as skipper Omar Mehfooz hit 39. Tayyab scalped 3-4, Islam 2-10 and Sajid 2-13.
Sadafco defeated Star-XI by 8 wickets. Star-XI was bowled out for 122. Ehtesham claimed 3-24, Zubair 3-25 and Iqbal Patel 2-19. Sadafco got to 123 for 2 in 76 balls with 8 wkts in hand. Zameer scored 22, Ali Jaan 30 not out and Zubair 45 not out. Shamsuddin took 2-27.
