JEDDAH — Universal-XI, Mercedes Benz, New Young Stars, Harasco Baroom, Al-Mazroi-XI, QRCC, Sadafco and Nesma won their respective matches in the WPCA-Modern Pioneer Morning Cup here.
Universal-XI had the last laugh against Awesome-XI by 6 wickets. Awesome-XI got to 112 for 9 as Wahid made 26. Bilal, Sohail and Owaiz claimed 2 wickets each. Universal-XI reached 113 for 4 in 86 balls as Malik Asif made 23 and Bilal 28. Waheed bagged 2 wickets.
Mercedes Benz won against Gujarat eagles by 8 wickets. Gujarat Eagles crashed for 64. Saifu grabbed 3-7, Amrutullah 3-11 and Amir 2. Mercedes Benz was home with 65 for 2 in 43 balls as Shafeeq Kavil remained unbeaten on 28 and Jabran 21.
New Young Stars thrashed SFCC by 78 runs. New Young Stars piled up 158 for 6 with Amir scoring 39, Rafaqat 21, Nazeer 27 not out, Bilal 30 and Imran Alawi 22 not out. Saad Farooqui took 3-37 and Usman 2. SFCC was bundled out for 80 with Akbar making 23. Shabbir Kiyani had 3 wickets for 2 runs, while 2 wickets each were claimed by Qaiser, Rafaqat and Imran.
Harasco Baroom continued its winning streak against Deloitte. Deloitte posted 118 for 7 as Irfan top scored with 32 and Zulfikhar hit 30. Ahmed and Qazzafi claimed 2 wickets each. Harasco Baroom achieved 121 without loss in 61 balls with all their 10 wickets intact as Hasanat hammered an unbeaten knock of 83 in 37 balls with 12 fours and 3 sixes and Mansoor remained unbeaten on 26.
Al-Mazroi edged past Jeddah Challengers by 3 wickets. Jeddah Challengers posted 146 for 8 as Akram Mohammed smashed 57 and skipper Abubakar 30. Abdullah took 3-25, while Sufiyan and Sohail took 2 each. Al-Mazroi achieved victory with skipper Sufiyan Laheri smashing an unbeaten 56 with 4 sixes and 3 fours, and Mohsin hitting 34. Umar grabbed 4 for 48 and Rafiq 2.
QRCC had the last laugh against Zamil Cool Care by 4 wickets. Zamil Cool Care could manage only 143 for 8 as Rais remained unbeaten on 45, Ashiq 27 and Maqsood 20. Iqbal Shaikh took 3-33 and Yasser 2. QRCC chased down 147 for 6 in 100 balls as Sadiq Memon hit 78 in 44 balls with 10 fours and 2 sixes and Abdulrouf 29. Abid took 3-23 and Naseer 2.
Nesma Holding plundered 228 for 3 as Ben scored 54 off 36 balls, Jawad 31, Sheraz 43 not out and Saidul 48. Akram scalped 2 wickets. Indian Knight Riders had no answer to the bowling of Javeed, who grabbed 5 for 8, and Zafar Iqbal 2-6 to crush them for just 27 to lose by huge 201 runs.
Sadafco defeated Rehab Riders by 8 wickets. Rehab Riders was bowled out for 116 as Amjad stroked 20 and Tanveer 32. Abdulrehman had 3-17, Fida 3-37 and Tauseef 2. Sadafco reached the winning target of 119 for 3 in 72 balls as Ali made 38 not out and Zubair Mulla 33 not out.
Ralco had the better of Al-Kabbani Cricket Group by 12 runs. Ralco put on 138 for 9 as Tanveer scored 28. Khaleel and Hassan picked 3 wickets each. Al-Kabbani Cricket Group was bundled out for 126 with Khaleel making 24 and Luqman 41. Tayyab grabbed 4 for 21, Yasir 3-32 and Jahangeer 2.
