Ace Cup: Hyderabad Green, Al-Khulais, Mazco and Jawar Al-Jazirah advance

JEDDAH — Mazco, Hyderabad Green, Al-Khulais and Jawar Al-Jazirah scored contrasting wins over their respective opponents in the quarterfinals of the Ace Cup Tournament here recently.
While Mazco and Al-Khulais beat Deccan Knights and Natco by 38 and 70 runs, respectively, Hyderabad Green and Jawar Al-Jazirah beat AGIC and Jeddah projects by 9 and 6 wickets, respectively. The tournament is sponsored by Ace Travel Group and organized by Jeddah Cricket Association (JCA).
Mazco scored 247-7. Faisal Khan 28 (4x3 and 1x6), Hameed Gul 77 off 43 balls (10x4 and 3x6), Tabassum 55 off 22 balls and Nasir 28. Akbar took 2-22 and Rabbani 2-30. In reply, Deccan Knights were bundled out for 209.
Athar scored 77 off 34 balls (3x6 and 13x4). He was well supported by Sohail 33, Imran 22 and Akbar 23. Wasif ripped through the batting lineup taking 5-23, while Hameed chipped in with 2-21.
In the second match, AGIC took the strike first and scored 134. Haroon contributed 26, Zahid 24 and Khan 20. Abdul Quddus took 4-13, Adeel 3-20 and Ashfaq 2-22. In reply, Hyderabad Green reached the target of 135 in 10 overs for the loss of 1 wicket. Rayees scored 62 off 26 balls (8 fours and 4 sixes), while Tahir remained unbeaten on a quick-fire 49 (4x4 and 3x6).
In the third encounter, Al-Khulais was bundled out for 229. Javed batted stylishly for his 88 off 35 balls (8x6 and 6x4), while Ismail (25) and Tanveer (30) gave him good support. Humayun (2-41) and Irfan (2-56) bowled a tight line and length. In reply, Natco was bundled out for 159 with Humayun (25), Sadiq (40), Irfan (35), Imran (20) and Umar (20) offering some resistance. Javed (3-30), Adnan (2-35) and Ismail (2-30) bowled well to hand victory to their team.
The fourth match saw Jeddah Projects manage to put on 189-6, thanks to Pervez's 65 off 44 balls (8x4). Kaleem scored 22, Wasi 33 and Ehsan 20.
Asim bagged 4-38. In reply, Jawar Al-Jazirah reached the target of 190 for the loss of 6 wickets. Shahzad scored a stylish 37, while Shaan hit a quick-fire 41 with 6 fours. Shahzad (22), Asim (24) and Sajjad (29) propped up the lower order. Pervez (3-33) was the lone bowler to apply the brakes, but it was not enough as Jawar Al-Jazira reached the target without much effort.
