RIYADH — The ragtag team of Royal Strikers made its presence felt in Week 5 of the UFTBR Friday Family Bowling League at Universal Bowling Center here thanks to a convincing 22-10 win over Saudi Oger. Vic Barrazona paced the Strikers with a 4-game series of 809 with contributions from Jun Daniel (792), Jun Alberto (759), Marvin Arocena (735), J.R. Diaz (399) and Albert Abug (351). Royal Strikers also claimed the weekly free pizza courtesy of league sponsor Pizza Inn. In other matches Team Unity rebounded from last week loss by beating Cezars Team 21-12, Got Chah humbled Bandar Assassins 21-8, Aces and Kings sustained their winning streak beating Simply Perfect 20-6, Striking Distance upset Habagat 18-11, Forevermore rolled past Honky Tonk 19-12, Pin Pals edged ABB Saudi Plus 19-17, Beauties and the Best narrowly won over Free Style 14-13 and Unica defeated Allied Unica 18-13. Joel Batolina of Unica (890 series) and Beth Danganan of Got Chah (808) bagged the Bowlers of the Week honors. Stephen Solomon still leads the race for MVP in Men's Division with an average of 223.10, followed by Ronald Bautista (217.2) and Joel Batolina (216.9). In the Ladies Division, Rachel Tismo is on top with 185.81 average, followed by Irene Pua (184.6) and DendenPonsaran (178.3). The Friday Family Bowling League, now in its 34th conference, is the longest running league. It is organized by UFTBR (Unified Filipino Tenpin Bowlers of Riyadh). UFTBR is also inviting Riyadh bowlers to participate in its annual Kalayaan Cup 2015 to celebrate the 117th Philippine Independence Day to be held on June 12 and 13 at UBC.
