Cesar de Mesa RIYADH — Team Unica Uno, led by Fernie Ballano's 4-game series of 905, scored a lopsided 22-9 win over Allied Beakers to bag the Team of the Week honors in the Interkey Saturday Bowling League here recently. Contributing to Ballano's strong showing were Marco Torres (812), Armin Isles (712), Joel Batolina (407) and Joe Garrido (376). Ballano also clinched the Bowler of the Week award for Group One, while Jun Daniel (Perrenial Bowlers) took week award for Group Two bowlers. The much-anticipated first conference of the Interkey Saturday Bowling League finally started recently with 18 participating teams at the Universal Bowling Center (UBC) here. The participating teams are: Bowl For Fun (Ernie Ballano, captain), SACO Bolts (Ferdie Dela Rosa), Interkey (Cesar De Mesa), T3S Strikers (Nelson De Vera), Shockwaves (Mario Rivera), Team Rose Dabarkads (Charlie Cheng), Rotunda (Rey Bautista), GF Jercks (KC Enriquez), TBA (Ian Choco), Royal Strikers (Albert Abug), Agimat Rabatitat (Art Yukong), Habagat (Cecille Solomon), Perrenial Bowlers (Frank Ranera), FBGR (Emerson Mitra), Unica Uno (Armin Isles), Allied Beakers (Vicky Vitug), Unica Dos (Jun Macarandang) and Beauties & D' Best (Lulu Quejada). In other games, Bowl for Fun edged Saco Bolts (9-8), T3S Strikers humbled the mostly neophyte bowlers of Interkey (18-3), Team Rose Dabarkads defeated Shockwaves (15-7), highly touted Rotunda won over GF Jerks (17-10), Royal Strikers edged TBA (14-13), Habagat rolled past Agimat Rabatitat in the battle of early favorites (16-13), FBGR thrashed Perennial Bowlers (21-9) and Beauties and the Best notched a surprise win over Unica Dos (19-6). Interkey is the main sponsor of the league. The company provides communication services and information technology. Interkey has become a leader in providing these services especially to various media agencies. The league is organized by the Unified Filipino Tenpin Bowlers of Riyadh (UFTBR) in collaboration with the Filipino Bowlers Group of Riyadh (FBGR). The league organizers are led by Lulu Quejada and Jim Dela Rosa and includes: Armin Isles, Cesar De Mesa, Dennis Durens, Rey Bautista, Nelson De Vera, Ernee Noto, Nap Torres, Joe Garrido, Ian Choco, Irene Pua and Pau Feria. During a brief opening ceremony Noto, UFTBR Chairman, thanked the sponsors and the participants for their support. He vowed that this league would become bigger in the near future.
