RIYADH — Mehran Cricket Club won the Super League title and Shaheen the Premier League crown bringing an end to the eight-week RCL MoneyGram T20 cricket tournament at RCL Complex here. Mehran Cricket Club beat Super Cricket Club by 6 wickets to clinch the Super League title. Batting first, Super posted 171. Khawar scored 79 and Adnan 25. Ibrahim and Assad Butt took 2 wickets each, while Basharat Shah, Fakhar and Mumtaz claimed 1 each. In reply, Mehran achieved the target in 16 overs. Rehan provided a solid start to Mehran with 73. He was supported by Alam Khan (55). Kashif took 2 wickets. Khawar Zafar and Shameer officiated the match. Man of the Match: Rehan. ShaheenXI thrashed PTI Cricket Club by 96 runs to claim the Premier League crown. Shaheen put on 216. Farooq added 65, Mohsin 55 and Rashid 28. Inam took 2 wickets. In reply, PTI was bowled out for 120. Sultan hit 30 and Aziz 25. Rashid bagged 5 wickets. Mubeen and Lal Dad officiated the game. Man of the Match: Rashid. Prize distribution ceremony was held after the matches at RCL Cricket Complex. Syed Qasim Ali Naqvi, senior auditor of Saudi Cricket Centre, and Rahat Chaudhary, media coordinator of SCC, were among the guests, who included the owner of Mehran Spices, Imran Hameed. Jawaid Munawar, senior vice president of RCL, conducted the ceremony. Cash prizes were given to RCL umpires — Lal Dad, Mubeen Malik, Suhail, Tariq Butt, Khawar and Shameer. League officials thanked SCC and sponsor MoneyGram for supporting RCL and requested the two bodies to help open up more opportunities for RCL players to participate in SCC tournaments. Naqvi highlighted the achievements of SCC over the years and expressed satisfaction over the RCL performance. Prizes were given to top Super League players: Zaheeruddin Khalid — Best Batsman; Irfan — Best Bowler; Khalid Khan — Player of the Tournament.
