RCL honors top players

RIYADH — The Riyadh Cricket League (RCL) hosted its annual President's Dinner at Marhaba's Banquet Hall here recently.
Present on the occasion were chief guest Khayyam Akbar, Charge d'Affaires at Pakistan Embassy, besides Mamoor Elahi, RCL president; Rana Abdul Rauf, OCC general manager; Imran Hameed of Mehran, school principals, RCL teams and sponsors.
The program started with recitation from the Qur'an by Riaz Ahmed. The gathering paid tribute to the schoolchildren who died in a terrorist act in Pakistan last month.
Asif Shaikh, RCL COO, presented a detailed presentation on the achievements of RCL 2013-2014 season such as Power Zone T20, Static Zone T20, MoneyGram SCC T20 and Inter-School tournament.
Khayyam presented mementoes to sponsors, Rana Abdul Rauf of OCC, Daud Ahmed of Al-Houdh Company, Mamoor Elahi, Power Zone CEO, Tanweer Jawed of Al-Rabie Foods, RCL committee members Jawaid Munawar, Hanif Baber and Khalid Rana.
Razaur Rahman, RCL senior advisor, stressed the need for discipline among players during the upcoming SCC MoneyGram tournament and thanked Khayyam for his support.
Khayyam Akbar was impressed by the RCL activities and appreciated the sponsors for supporting RCL. He also reaffirmed Pakistan Embassy's support to RCL activities.
Mamoor Elahi, RCL president, thanked the sponsors and applauded the efforts of the League's executive committee and team managers for their untiring efforts.
The prize distribution was held for the Power Zone T20 and Eid Festival Cricket Tournament. The awards were given to:
