JEDDAH — In cooperation with the Saudi Association of Japan Graduates and Associates (SAJGA), the Consulate General of Japan held an orientation lecture here at the weekend for King Abdullah scholarship students and Saudi students planning to study in Japan at their own expense. The lecture aimed to brief students about academic life in Japan, the best way to adapt to Japanese society and ways to make their time in the country useful. Japanese Consul General Matahiro Yamaguchi patronized the event in the presence of Dr. Abdulaziz Turkistani, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom to Japan, who addressed the students and praised Japan and its people by describing them as friendly and generous. Koji Naito, deputy consul general wished success to Saudi students and provided them with information on the country and academic life. Later, SAJGA members held an orientation program and gave advice and essential information to the students. At the end of the orientation, Consul General Yamaguchi hosted a dinner party at his residence for the students where he wished them all success in their academic endeavors. — By Syeda Amtul/SG
