JEDDAH — Muhammad Al-Fal has been appointed editor in chief of Okaz newspaper. Abdullah Saleh Kamel, chairman of the Board of Directors of Okaz Organization for Press and Publication, issued an order in this regard. Al-Fal replaces Dr. Hashim Abdu Hashim. Al-Fal, a seasoned journalist whose career spans three decades, was serving as deputy editor in chief of Okaz for the last three years. Earlier, he worked in several leading Saudis newspapers. Al-Fal served as editor in chief of Urdu News and Al-Madinah, deputy editor in chief of Al-Muslimoon, and managing editor of Al-Eqtisadiah business daily.
