Saudi Gazette report JAZAN — Patrol units under Al-Mujahideen wing of the security forces in the southern Jazan region had foiled attempts to smuggle in huge quantities of weapons, drugs and other prohibited items last year. They arrested 20,424 infiltrators and 2,813 smugglers in addition to seizing 1,634 vehicles that were used for smuggling, the Saudi Press Agency reported. Khaled Bin Quzaiz, spokesman of the wing, said that the seized items included 615 weapons, 49,044 live ammunition, 659 magazines, nine hand grenades, 4,261 bundles of hashish, 187 ton of qat, and 114 bottles of whisky, in addition to currency notes worth SR90,307. The forces also foiled smuggling of 1,476 heads of livestock, he said.
