PISES students achieve top positions in global examinations
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 25 - 02 - 2015

RIYADH — The Pakistan International School, English Section, Riyadh (PISES) has been enjoying the reputation of one of the best educational institutions in the region for the last decade for continuously producing excellent results in ‘O' and ‘A' Level examinations. Every year, PISES students further strengthen this reputation by living up to the traditions of this august institution. Since the 2007, the PISES students are securing good positions not only in Saudi Arabia but also at world level.
Following the announcement by British Council for the May/June 2014 IGCSE examination, two of PISES students have topped in the world in their respective subjects. Hamza Hamid Hussain and Laiba Arshad Khan emerged top in Physics and English respectively. In addition, four of PISES students got top positions in Riyadh. Anusha Sultan Meo and Mariam Asad got first position in Biology whereas Zainab Tariq and Syed Hadi Hussain Rizvi topped in Mathematics in Riyadh.
Though the students of PISES have been making their mark for many years, yet it is for the first time that six students are amongst the highest achievers in the world and in the Kingdom. This outstanding performance reflects the devotion and dedication of the teachers, hard work and enthusiasm of students coupled with keen and watchful role of parents. Certainly, it would not have been possible without a harmonized effort of these three stake-holders. Muhammad Naeem Akhtar, Syed Hassan Jamal, Mrs. Lubna Nadeem, Dr. Shahida Hassan, Mrs. Aisha Umair and Mrs. Aalia Sattar are amongst those teachers whose guidance, supervision and encouragement made this all possible.
Muhammad Tanveer, the Acting Principal of Pakistan International School, English Section, Riyadh, expressed his feelings of gratitude to Allah Almighty for this achievement and congratulated the staff, students and their parents for their collective efforts and contribution to bring school to this standard.
Prof. Dr. Sultan Ayoub Meo (Chairman SMC), Rana Sarfraz Ahmad (Vice Chairman SMC) and the members of SMC congratulated students, teachers and parents at the marvelous achievement. They further said that it is a matter of honor and prestige not only for PISES but also for the whole Pakistani community in the Kingdom. At this occasion, they reaffirmed that SMC would determinedly keep on working to provide better educational facilities to the community in Riydah. — SG
