JEDDAH — Adnan Dani scalped 5 wickets while Qamar Abbas, Waqas Ausaf, Imran and Talha smashed centuries in the WPCA MoneyGram cricket tournament here.

In the first match of the 35-over Premier Tournament, Crown Steel defeated Hala Friends by 89 runs. Crown Steel racked up 378 for 3. Imran Azam smashed 113 in 68 balls studded with 6 sixes and 7 fours. He added 61 with Shafeeq (87 in 49 balls). Earlier hard hitter Khurram Karamat hit 52 in 36 balls. Waqas Ausaf remained unbeaten on 101 in 45 balls with 2 sixes and 13 fours. Waqas and Saleem claimed a wicket each. Hala Friends was left stranded at 289 for 8 as Saleem hit 50, Abdullah Essa 48, Waqas 23, Sameer 21, Usman 30 and Niaz 71 not out. Abuhuraira took 3 for 73, Gulam Riyaz 3 for 52 and Zaheer one.

In the other match, My Care Hala crushed Al-Ghamdi Cricket Stars by 249 runs. My Care Hala blasted 399 for 9 as Qamar Abbas slammed 174 in 85 balls with 7 sixes and 17 fours. He first added 49 with Kashif Shafeeq (33), then 133 with Babar (63) and lastly 152 with Amjed (70). Kashif grabbed 4-56, Faisal 3-26, while a scalp each went to Nadeem Shah and Faiyyaz. Al-Ghamdi, in reply, was bowled out for 150. Ali Ansar stroked 37. Adnan Dani took 5-44 to claim his second 5-wicket haul in two matches. Hafiz claimed 2-17 and Tayyab one.

MoneyGram Afternoon T20

Nestle Milo thrashed MCC by 5 wickets. MCC posted 146 for 7 as Mohammed Riyaz Khan compiled 41, while Abdul Malik remained unbeaten on 55. Haroon Zahid claimed 3 for 14 and Bilal Malik 2-34. Nestle Milo achieved victory with 147 for 5 in 96 balls as Imran hit 36, Bilal Malik 50 and Ahsan 38. Sarfaraz had 2-34.

Elaf Advance beat Fuchs Alhamrani by 1 wicket. Fuchs produced 195 for 9 as Khoban hit 45 and Mansoor remained unbeaten on 66. Waqas scalped 4-3, Adnan took 2-18 and Usman 2-40.

Elaf Advance reached 200 for 9 with 2 balls to spare. Siddique scored 27, Ehtesham 38, Nabeel 57 and Hasnain 21. Mohsin took 3-34, Mansoor 2-32 and Saqib 2-55.

Hyundai beat Hala Academy Blue by 3 wickets. Hala Academy Blue mustered 181 for 5 through Talha (125 in 67 balls). Hyundai was home (182) for the loss of 7 wickets. Ayaz hit 38, Wajid 23, Mohammed 24, while Hamed hit 22. Zafran had 3 for 20 and Haider 2-42.

Al-Safri thrashed UCC by 51 runs. Al-Safri piled up 213 for 6 thanks to opener Hashim's 72, Saeed Ahmed's 26 and Manjeet Kumar's 50. Nadeem Shabbir claimed 2-32 and Irfan Ghulam 2-38. UCC could manage only 162-8 as Imran made 22, Ahmed Faraz 54 not out, Shahnawaz 24 and Amer 21. Pervez bagged 2-28 and Sohail Shah 2-30.

My Care Hala Green edged past Hala International School by 7 wickets. Hala School was all out for 149 with Abid making 45, Mustafa 26 and Aftab Malik 31. Javed took 2-16 and Yasir 2-37. MCH Green scored 152 in 69 balls for the loss of 3 wickets. Nadeem and Yasir remained unbeaten on 64 and 43, respectively. Amer scored 20.
