Hyundai, Hala White, Hala School and Nestle Milo advance

JEDDAH — Hyundai, Hala Academy White, Hala International School and Nestle Milo emerged victorious in the SCC Afternoon Cup quarterfinals here.
The tournament is sponsored by Saudi Cricket Centre (SCC) and managed by Western Province Cricket Association (WPCA). In the semifinals Hyundai will take on Nestle Milo, while Hala Academy White will face Hala International School.
Hala Academy White defeated MBCC by 5 wickets. MBCC posted 121 for 9 with Fareed making 52 in 28 balls and Abdulaziz 20. Amir Sajjad scalped 3-15, Safiuddin 2-29 and a wicket each went to Adil, Furqan and Ibrahim.
Hala Academy White achieved the target of 122 in 65 balls with 5 wickets in hand. Skipper Furquan hit 41 and Shahid 25. Bilal had 2-15, while Razzaq and Tariq one each.
Nestle Milo scraped past Al-Mabani by 8 runs. Nestle Milo piled up 205 for 3 thanks to skipper Abdullah Zahid scoring 53 in 39 balls, Aijaz Butt 41, Imran 48 and Azeem 48 not out.
Amjad, Kahnwez and Adnan took a wicket each. Al-Mabani started well with Usman Gulab hitting 60 off 40 balls, while Ijaz Khan added 31, but a middle order collapse left it stranded at 197.
Irfan claimed 2-28, Bilal Malik 2-24 and Azeem 2-34. Hyundai beat Limitless by 77 runs. Hyundai racked up 207 for 6 through skipper Talha (77) and Samdani (53) as the two added 91 for the opening stand.
Mustafa claimed 3-42 and Amir 2-43. Limitless was bundled out for 130. Ali notched 46 and Amir 28. Faheem bagged 3-18, Ishaq 3-39, while Wajid and Yusuf grabbed a scalp each.
Hala International School thrashed UCC by 39 runs. Hala posted 163 for 8 thanks to Abid (41) after it was 47 for 4. Adil claimed 3-32, while Sheraz, Qasim and Yasser bagged a wicket each.
UCC, in reply, lost wickets at regular intervals to be restricted to 124 with meaningful contribution coming from Shahnawaz Khan (38). Anas Malik grabbed 3-4 in 7 balls, Abdulsami 3-29 and Junaid 2-20. Abid and Aftab took a wicket each.
MoneyGram Afternoon
Two matches took place in the first week of MoneyGram Afternoon tournament being played under the banner of MoneyGram Cricket Ke Badshah and organized by Saudi Cricket Center.
In the first encounter Lothers-XI defeated AMI Juffali by 31 runs. Lothers slammed 188 for 5 thanks to Khurram (50), Mushtaq (84) and Shibu (35). Sabur took 2 wickets.
AMI Juffali was bundled out for 157 with only Waqas contributing 52. Nasir took 4 for 38, while Shibu and Rameez bagged 2 each.
In the other encounter, Contraco went down to Hala Academy Blue by 2 wickets. Contraco posted 149 for 7. Sanam hit 76 with 11 fours and a six and Shehzad 32. Haider and Zafraan took 2 wickets each.
Hala Blue achieved the winning target of 150 for 8 with Zafran remaining unbeaten on 36 and Shahbaz scoring 31. Iqbal took 3-32 and Amjad 2.
