RIYADH — Police have referred a Saudi man who conned SR400 million out of his victims to the Bureau of Investigation and Public Prosecution (BIP) for further questioning prior to sending him to court, Al-Hayat newspaper reported on Thursday. The man had allegedly conned about 6,000 Saudis and other GCC citizens and fled to Dubai after his scam was uncovered. He came back after a number of lawsuits were filed against him and gave himself in to the police. He collected various amounts of money from citizens in Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, Bahrain and Kuwait allegedly to invest in the manufacture of containers for trucks to be used on the Riyadh Metro. He promised to sign release contracts with each of them for SR4,000 a month for three years.
