Saudi Gazette report
ANTALYA, Turkey — The South Korean electronic giant Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. promised that it is all set to enter the age of Internet of Things (IOT) with a seamless connectivity in everything in our day-to-day experience in order to make smart and easy living a part of our life, Choong Ro Lee, president of Samsung Middle East and North Africa disclosed at the 2015 Samsung MENA Forum here on Monday.
Showcasing its vision for smarter living, Samsung once again reinforces leadership of the regional TV market.
Samsung raises the entertainment experience to the next level with its 88-inch SUHD TV and its new audio solutions delivering a premium sound experience.
Samsung introduces clever home appliances inspired by professional chefs to give home cooks a better experience in the kitchen and superior appliances which deliver exceptional cooling, comfort and hygienic benefits.
Samsung also continues to make its mark in the camera market with the new NX500 camera, inspired by the performance and features of Samsung's award-winning NX1 series. In addition, Samsung demonstrates its new line up of sleek Galaxy A smartphones, which offer ways of capturing and sharing digital experiences.
“Samsung is all about delivering amazing experiences, and we can do this because of our intense focus on the needs of consumers,” said Choong Ro Lee. “This region has been one of growing importance for us over many years, with a demographic of early adopters for new technology. The MENA region has been a strong supporter of Samsung and we continue to pledge our commitment to delivering innovation that brings new experiences and enhanced engagement to their lives,” he remarked.
He moreover said as part of its growing role in the region, Samsung has also been undertaking significant efforts to enhance the IT experience and to support the education for the children and youth through Samsung Smart School Initiatives. Samsung has also collaborated with NGOs, Ministries of Education and universities to create applications or full content solutions to help provide a better learning experience.
Through these partnerships, Samsung have initiated the Samsung Academy Program which provides high school students to study the technical learning of Samsung products, with the opportunity of internships on graduation.
Lee continued “Samsung views its community involvements as completely separate from its commercial activities and hence looks at delivering on quality support that can really make a difference rather than spreading our efforts thin across many. We tie up with NGOs who understand our business objectives and are aligned with our goal in utilizing technology to drive a better, safer and healthier world.”
Samsung also showcases the 88-inch JS9500 TV, powered by a proprietary, eco-friendly nano-crystal display technology and intelligent SUHD re-mastering engine. The SUHD TV is innovative in every way, delivering superior picture quality with stunning contrast, striking brightness, spectacular color and superb UHD detail.
Collaborating with 20th Century Fox, Samsung is optimizing content to deliver premium quality of SUHD and give consumers an unrivaled viewing experience. Most recently, Samsung partnered with the Fox Innovation Lab to re-master the critically acclaimed film, Life of Pi specifically for SUHD TV and deliver images with more vivid and lifelike colors than ever before.
From 2015, all new Samsung Smart TVs will be powered by the Tizen operating system, which not only provides better connectivity, but also gives developers a more robust and easier platform to create applications. Most importantly, it ensures that consumers will have access to a much broader range of Smart TV content and services.
Samsung is on track to become a market leader in home appliances, bringing a premium professional chef-level appliance developed in partnership with Samsung Club des Chefs, a collaboration between Samsung Digital Appliances, Michelin-starred chefs and food visionaries, focused on a revolutionary home appliance brand for Samsung. This first Weber-of-its-kind global culinary initiative, launched in 2013, has brought together world-class chefs to collaborate with Samsung on the development of next-generation products.
This year marks the debut of the Samsung Chef Collection refrigerator, a premium professional chef-level appliance developed in collaboration with Samsung Club des Chefs. With its thoughtful attention to innovation and design, the Samsung Chef Collection 4-Door Refrigerator (model: RF9900) represents a huge leap forward in food preservation, storage, organization and meal preparation. The intelligent refrigerator includes constant and accurate temperature control with its Precise Chef Cooling minimizing fluctuation in the range of 0.5 degree Celsius, as well as a Triple Cooling System in both the refrigerator and the freezer, to keep food at optimal humidity.
The latest top-load washer, the Samsung activ dualwash includes a built-in sink with water jet and gentle scrubbing surface, providing an all-in-one solution to pre-treat tough stains, like heavily soiled sports uniforms, or hand wash items, like delicate sweaters.
The new Samsung POWERbot VR9000 features an array of advanced technologies and features to do the heavy lifting for today's busy households, from hardwood to carpet. The Digital Inverter Motor Shandwick features a level of suction up to 60 times more powerful than conventional robot vacuums for removal of dirt and other debris on carpets like no robot before it. The POWERbot VR9000 also features unique innovation that provides maximum maneuverability.
The new NX500 camera is the perfect camera for everyday use, with its best-in-class DRIMe5 Imaging processor, a new hybrid AF system and Samsung's highest-resolution 28 MP BSI APS-C sensors.
Putting core performance and functionality of the NX1 into a highly portable format, this new compact camera makes sure that a moment is never missed. The palm-sized NX500 offers updated connectivity such as Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, providing users with an advanced wireless experience, as well as the option to seamlessly shoot and share their captured experiences.
Samsung has expanded its line-up of Galaxy A smartphones in the European market. Optimized for capturing and sharing your digital life, the Galaxy A7, A5 and A3 come with a 5MP front facing camera to ensure the perfect selfie, and offer original features like an animated GIF setting. With a full metal unibody design, the ultra-slim Galaxy A phones are the perfect tools for telling compelling stories.
Samsung has announced the launch of ten new multi-function printer (MFP) models in the MENA region. The MFPs are the first printers of their kind to be equipped with an Android operating system, and are designed to be more independent, intuitive and scalable for all types of business environments.
As part of Samsung's focus to develop printer solutions that seamlessly fit into the IT and Smart office ecosystem, the new Android based MFPs will feature Samsung's Smart UX Center to operate independently without a PC, app scalability, and a consumer friendly UI.
The launch of Samsung's Smart MultiXpress series of MFPs will both increase business customers' efficiency and productivity, as well as provide even faster document processing speed – output speed is up to 1.5 times faster than previous 1GHz single-core CPU thanks to its 1GHz dual-core CPU – and enable multiple users to print and scan large documents without disruption.
