JEDDAH – Following the release of Galaxy S4, ATIV products and a smart camera, Samsung Electronics has officially launched the Galaxy Note 3 on Sunday at the Hilton Hotel here in Jeddah. Galaxy Note 3 is the newest and latest member of the Galaxy Note family.
Samsung Electronics KSA General Manager Jae Cheon Park said that Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is a premium, efficient yet artistic device. It adds delight to daily tasks and infuses innovative features that help consumers design their lives the way they want. “The undeniable success of Galaxy Note category strengthened our conviction that consumers want higher quality features for smart devices and they want those new features to make their lives better,” he said.
Samsung Galaxy Note 3 comes with a larger screen to deliver an enriched viewing experience and enables you to do more. It comes with a wider (5.7inch) full HD Super AMOLED display, yet slimmer (8.3mm) and lighter (168g) hardware design, and more powerful and longer lasting (3,200mAh) battery. It is also equipped with a 13 megapixel rear camera, with Smart Stabilization and high CRI LED flash. The new device offers the latest LTE technologies – CAT4 Carrier Aggregation and supports the greatest number of multiple frequencies. Incorporating the industry's largest 3GB RAM, Galaxy Note 3 also provides faster and more powerful multi-tasking performance.
In a previous statement, Park is betting big on Samsung's newest smartphone, the Galaxy Note 3 and its companion device, the Galaxy Gear. “We expect our sales to grow here in Saudi Arabia and these devices will be very popular among Saudi consumers,” he said. The Galaxy Gear is not launched in Saudi Arabia yet.
He further said that Samsung sold globally around 14.5 million devices of Galaxy Note, 1.24 million devices for Note 2. “Following that figures we expect the Galaxy Note 3 will be very successful,” he noted.
Back in April Samsung said that January-March net profit surged 42 percent to 7.2 trillion won ($6.5 billion) from 5 trillion won a year earlier. That increase was despite booking a one-time charge against earnings related to settlement of its intellectual property battle with Apple. Analysts estimated the charge at $600 million.
Sales rose 17 percent to 52.9 trillion won. Operating profit was up 54 percent to 8.8 trillion won, in line with its preliminary results released earlier this month.
Samsung Electronics, at its Premiere 2013 event in London back in June, unveiled a range of Galaxy S4 and ATIV products, including tablets, laptops, and a smart camera. The event revealed three Galaxy S4 phones, two ATIV products and the company's new piece of hardware, the Galaxy NX – an Android Jelly Bean powered digital camera which supports interchangeable lenses.
