RIYADH — The Traffic Department in Riyadh has arrested 24 drivers for car-drifting and 84 men for watching vehicles perform such stunts over the last two weeks. Officers also arrested eight wanted men and seized 95 vehicles. Riyadh Police reported that the eight suspects are wanted by the police and the anti-drugs authorities for multiple crimes, including running over a victim and a hit-and-run. The police report also revealed that most drivers who practice drifting hire their cars so their fathers cannot find any evidence about their activities. Riyadh Traffic Department reported that a road accident resulting from a chase between an officer and a driver who was drifting resulted in minor injuries to the former. The drifter was uninjured.
