RIYADH — Mehran CC, Royal Fighters and Black Caps emerged champions in Super, Premier 1 and Premier 2 Divisions, respectively, in the RCL Power Zone T20 championship, organized by Riyadh Cricket League and sponsored by Power Zone Company at the RCL Complex here recently. The finals saw good bowling by Fakhar and Ali and excellent batting by Alam Khan, Mohammed Hussain, Naveed, Waqar, Madani K and Nazar Abbas.
RCL President Mamoor Elahi and the committee congratulated the winners and the participants.
In a thrilling Super Division final, Mehran defeated Pakhtunkhwa by 2 runs. Opting to bat, Mehran tallied 203 runs. After Ibrahim was out for 9, Mohammed Hussan and Alam Khan produced an excellent partnership of 150 runs. Hussan scored 66 with 4 boundaries and 2 sixes, while Alam Khan hit 83 with 12 boundaries. Farman and Altaf took 1 wicket each.
In reply, Pakhtunkhwa, which was talented enough to achieve the target, fell short by 2 runs. Khalid Khan scored 38, Naveed 43, Noman 44 and Farman 38. Fakhar claimed 3 wickets, while Jahanzaib and Basharat took 2 wickets each. Man of the Match: Alam Khan.
Royal Fighters beat Gujranwala by 5 wickets in Premier 1 final. After winning the toss, Gujranwala batted first and made 143. Waqar played with confidence and hit 62. No other batsmen could assist him. Ali bowled well and claimed 3 wickets, while Madani K., Affaq and Athar took 2 each.
In reply, Royal Fighters achieved the target in 18.2 overs. Madani K. was in good form. He cracked 57, ably supported by Ali (38). Ameen contributed 16. Ehsan and Irfan grabbed 2 wickets each. Man of the Match: Madani K. Black Caps won the Premier 2 title, defeating Insaf CC by 21 runs. Batting first, Black Caps amassed 175. Sanaullah hit 35. After the departure of openers Nazar Abbas took charge and contributed 75 with 8 boundaries and 1 six. Mudassir scored 15. Waqar, Waheed and Zia took 2 wickets each.
In reply, Insaf CC was bowled out for 154. Aamir played well and made 41 and Imran 22. Amir took 2 wickets, while Zahid, Zeeshan, Ahmer, Sanaullah and Wasi claimed 1 each. Man of the Match: Nazar Abbas.
