RIYADH — The Riyadh Cricket League (RCL) hosted an annual President's Dinner for RCL teams, sponsors, school principals and community guests at a restaurant here recently. The chief guest was Moinuddin Memon, Welfare Attaché, Pakistan Embassy.The program kicked off with a presentation on the achievements of the RCL season 2012-2013 and progress update of the 2013-2014 season. There was also a prize distribution ceremony, where winners and runners-up of previous tournaments were honored. Mamoor Elahi, president of RCL, thanked the sponsors for their support and applauded the efforts of the league's team managers for delivering high quality cricket matches throughout the season. He thanked the Pakistan Embassy for supporting its community living in Riyadh and sportsmen participating in RCL tournaments. Memon said he was very impressed by the RCL activities and confirmed the embassy would help get sponsors for the league. He thanked the RCL committee for providing the facilities for Pakistanis and other expatriates to play the sport in Riyadh. Mehran CC beat NAB CC in the BSF Super Cup Final by 24 runs to claim the Super Cup. The Man-of-the-Match was Majid Khan. Kamran Akram of NAB was named Best Batsman, Khalid of Pakhtunkhwa CC was declared Best Bowler and Imran Khan of NAB was Player of the Tournament. Gujranwala had beaten Riyadh Blues in the BSF Premier League-I final by seven wickets. Man-of-the-Match was Usman Ashraf. Zafar of Riyadh Blues was named the Best Batsman, Shakeel of Riyadh Blues was Best Bowler and Usman Ashraf of Gujranwala was Player of the Tournament. Bhatkal Warriors won the BSF Premier League-II final against Riyadh Sports Club by 7 wickets. The Man-of-the-Match was Madani. Mehboob of Bhatkal Warriors was named Best Batsman, Nashir Kurtay of Maestro was Best Bowler and Madani of Bhatkal Warriors was Player of the Tournament. In the Super Division of the Sikandar Farooqui Memorial T-20 Cricket Tournament, Mehran defeated Pakhtunkhwa to become champion. The Best Batsman award was given to Faheem Abbas Shah of Mehran, Majid of Mehran was named Best Bowler and the Player-of-the-Tournament honor was given to Imran Khan of NAB. In the Premier-I Division, Mughal beat Super, with the Best Batsman award given to Syed Waqar of Gujranwala, Sajjad Shah of Mughal named Best Bowler and Abubaker of Cricket Samarwa named Player-of-the-Tournament. In the Premier-II Division, Kashmir Press beat Diamond. The Best Batsman award was given to Shabab of Kashmir Press, Imran Khan of Karachi Titans was named Best Bowler, while Zeeshan Shah of Cricketers was Player-of-the-Tournament.
