Jeddah Shaheen to play Old Students for JCA Cup

JEDDAH — Old Students beat ICAD, while Jeddah Shaheen downed Saudi German Hospital in their respective semifinal matches of Division-II Afternoon League JCA Cup here recently.
Saudi German Hospital lodge a complaint against Jeddah Shaheen for violating player registration, but as per the matches played and the results Old Students will face Jeddah Shaheen in the final of the tournament, which is organized and sponsored by Jeddah Cricket Association (JCA).
Old Students beat ICAD by 8 wickets. ICAD, batting first, was all out for 156. Its prolific scorer Mohsin Reza failed to impress with the bat as he went for just 9, but his partner Waqar hit 47 and Shakeel 26 to give some respectability to ICAD total. Later Munawwar added 16 and Nasir 10. There were 28 extras.
Tariq was the main destroyer as he took 4-35. Abdul Rehman Khalil, a Saudi national, returned 3-14 with his medium pacers, while Abdul Qadir grabbed 2-23 and skipper Asif 1-22.
In reply, Old Students reached the target for the loss of 2 wickets in 15.3 overs. Tariq also showed his form with the bat as he remained unbeaten on 60, while Imran added 36, Izhar 20 and Abdul Qadir 27 not out. Hassan took 1-15 and Nahdi 1-29.
Jeddah Shaheen downed Saudi German Hospital by 27 runs. Batting first, Jeddah Shaheen put on 219-5 in their quota of 20 overs. Omar Shareef top-scored with 63 off 27 balls.
His partner Faisal Shahzad made 54 off 33 balls, while middle order batsman Nazir remained unbeaten on 46 runs along with Hasnain 14 not out. Waqas took 3-39, while Ali and Hasnain Tariq grabbed a wicket each for 34 and 33 runs, respectively.
In reply, the SGH could reach only 192-7 in 20 overs. Left-handed opening batsman Taqiuddin started well and made 34 and his partner Hasnain Tariq reached half century (52 off 39 balls). Faisal Shahzad claimed 2-26, while Faheem, Mubashir, Karam and Khalid took a wicket each for 18, 22, 26 & 28 runs, respectively.
