IISJ conducts its annual ‘Cabinet Investiture Ceremony'

JEDDAH — To mark the beginning of another academic year 2013-2014, International Indian School, Jeddah (IISJ) conducted its “Cabinet Investiture Ceremony” for grades nine - 12 section at the girls' and boys' sections recently.
The newly inducted cabinet members were entrusted with responsibilities and duties to lead the school to the pinnacle of success.
Boys' section
The event was attended by the Chairman of the Managing Committee Dr.Mohammed Khursheed Akhtar, members of the managing committee, Principal Syed Masood Ahmed, controller of examination,vice principals, headmasters and headmistresses of various sections in the boys' section.
Ahmed also commended the performance and congratulated the newly appointed cabinet members. He urged the students to have a clear conscience while delineating their duties.
The outgoing Assistant Head boy, Areeb A.Kashif,welcomed the distinguished gathering and presented a bouquet to Chief Guest and school observer, Raqib Qureshi followed by the oath taking ceremony administered by vice principal Dr.Najeeb Qais.
Qureshi congratulated the new office bearers and urged them to demonstrate leadership qualities and be role models for others.
Exuding confidence,the cabinet members led by their Head boy Hurairah Chorghay pledged loyalty and selfless service to the school.
The cabinet members presented the newly appointed class prefects of grades nine - 12 with badges.
The most anticipated and intriguing event of the day was “The Shadow Act” performed by the members of the students' cabinet.
Themed “An Eco- Friendly IISJ,” the act conveyed the message of not only safeguarding and preserving our environment, but also putting in efforts to create a greener and a healthier planet for posterity.
Assistant Head boy, Mohammed Maniyar delivered the vote of thanks.
Girls' section
Chief guest Kausar Kidwai, wife of Indian Consul General Faiz Ahmad Kidwai, was presented with a bouquet by Head girl Thamara Khan in the girls' section.
In the oath taking ceremony, the newly appointed cabinet members promised to uphold the name of the school and bring glory and honor to the institution. The class prefects and the assistant prefects were invested with their respective badges.
The new Head girl made her maiden speech, speaking about leadership. She promised to work for the betterment of IISJ and her fellow mates.
The school choir enthralled everyone with their melodious song. Few yoga “asanas (postures)” were displayed to students to help them live a healthy life.
The outgoing house-in-charges were felicitated with certificates of appreciation, and the new ones with responsibilities.
The most spectacular program of the day was the “Light Show.”
The event staged a number of students whose scintillating performance held the audience in awe. The formation of the bird and flowers like lotus were the highlight of the performance.
Kausar Sultana, Azmatunnisa and Nishat Anwer received appreciation for putting up a beautiful show. Kidwai congratulated the cabinet and kindled a desire in them to give their best in all their endeavors. — SG
