Ali and Imran dazzle in Afternoon

JEDDAH — Imran of Arab Lankans recorded a hat trick as Ali Nawaz and Usman excelled with the bat in the WPCA Afternoon Summer League here recently.
Jotun Paints humbled SFCC by 10 wickets. SFCC crumbled for a mere 37. Imran claimed 3-6 and Saleem 2. Jotun Paints, in reply, took only 13 balls to make 40 for no loss.
Asian Plastic Factory (APF) trounced Dopco Young Stars by 7 wickets. Dopco Young Stars tallied 152 through Asghar (41), Rashid (27) and Afzal (21) after they were struggling at 65-7. Imran of APF took 5-25 and Azam took 2. APF reached 156-3 in 88 balls. Murtuza hammered 55 in 27 balls, while Usman remained unbeaten on 53 off 39 balls and Ijaz made 26 not out.
Limitless prevailed over Al-Mabani by 21 runs. Limitless, which opted to bat first, saw its openers in awesome touch. Ali Nawaz blasted an unbeaten 111 in 57 balls with 9 sixes and 7 fours as his partner Usman blasted an unbeaten 82 in 61 balls. The two stitched together 222 runs without being separated.
Al-Mabani, in reply, fought bravely. Ijaz Khan made 75 in 35 balls, while Tanveer hit 34 as the duo added 108 runs. But the middle order collapsed miserably to be stranded at 201. Khan made 27. Two wickets each went to Amjad, Rashid and Imran.
Fuchs Alhamrani defeated Marine Services by 5 wickets. Marine Services posted 166-7 through Omair (41), Kashif (35) and Shakeel (29). Khoban took 3-32. Fuchs Alhamrani, in reply, lost wickets at regular intervals but Khoban kept his end intact to remain unbeaten on 50 off 20 balls. He was well supported by Nasir Khan (33) and Usman (21) to achieve 169-5 in 99 balls. Asghar claimed 2 scalps.
Hyundai humbled Arab Lankans by 80 runs. Hyundai racked up 207 with contributions from Ayaz (65 in 34 balls), Wajid (21), Wahaj (39), Faiyaz (26) and Hamid (20). Imran bowled magnificently to take 5-48 along with a hat trick in the last over of his spell. Siraj took 2. Arab Lankans, in reply, lost wickets at frequent intervals to be stranded at 127 with only Mushtaq resisting with 51 in 37 balls and Ramazan making 27. Faheem took 2 wickets.
Al-Safri won against United Cricket Club (UCC) by 12 runs. Al-Safri-XI put into bat, began well reaching 64 for 1. But then lost wickets in a heap to be tottering at 83 for 7. Aftab Malik scored 46 and Rehan 32. Mudassir Raja scalped 3-15, Ahmed Faraz 3-18 and Yasir 2. UCC was bowled out for 119 with only Shahnawaz hitting 65 in 55 balls. Waqas grabbed 3-23 and Aftab Malik 2.
