Abullah Al-Dubyani and Muhammad Fallata Okaz/Saudi Gazette MAKKAH – Security authorities in Makkah on Monday arrested a mentally deranged Pakistani Umrah pilgrim for fatally stabbing his maternal aunt. The pilgrim's mother, aged 54, sustained multiple stab wounds. The woman, whose condition is serious, was admitted to King Abdulaziz Hospital. The alleged culprit's wife said that the security authorities took the man to Makkah's mental hospital after he had suffered from psychic problems. “I don't know how he managed to get out of the hospital in such a mentally disturbed condition. He should not have been allowed to leave the hospital,” she said. The pilgrim attacked the 60-year-old aunt with a sharp knife but his mother was able to run away after sustaining several stabs, Ati Al-Qurashi, spokesman of Makkah police, said. Saudi Red Crescent volunteers took the body of the woman to the morgue and the wounded pilgrim was rushed to the hospital.
