The man who stabbed a woman to death and severely injured her sister has confessed he gained entry to their apartment in Al-Marwa disguised in an Abaya. The Yemeni man was arrested Tuesday by police for stabbing his victim 12 times. Her sister is in a hospital's intensive care unit with eight stab wounds. During the investigation, he said he was wearing the Abaya and armed with a knife when he knocked on the door of the apartment. The deceased opened the door and they quarreled verbally before he stabbed her, he added. After he stabbed the woman, he ran into the street where the Abaya fell off him and he dropped the blood-stained knife in a street trash bin. It appears the police believe that the suspect's crime was premeditated because he was wearing woman's clothing as a disguise and was carrying a knife. The killer is a legal resident, who worked as a salesman at a well-known women's shop in Alfaysaliya District, according to the injured sister, the main witness, who was speaking Wednesday from her hospital bed. She said the suspect had accused her sister of “having spells cast on him,” and taking his money through “magic.” She added that he became very angry when her sister refused to talk to him when he came into the house. He then took out the knife and stabbed her sister. When she tried to intervene, he stabbed her also, said the sister. The sister said she then pretended to be dead by lying motionless on the floor until the man fled. “Then I started shouting because I had a friend over with her baby. But I discovered that my friend had run away out of fear, after locking up her baby in one of our rooms.” She said that she then forced herself to walk outside, but collapsed in the street. The police had to break the room's door to get to the baby. The mother of the baby said she was scared when she saw the man stabbing the sisters.
