Man injured as police flatten car tires

JEDDAH — A man was injured during a police chase and taken to hospital, said Makkah Police spokesman Lt. Col. Ati Al-Qurashi. The man and his two friends refused to pull over for the police and sped off. Officers fired several warning shots in the air in an attempt to get the men to stop, but they refused. Officers then shot at the tires and the driver lost control. Police have yet to determine why the men refused to pull over.
