Jeddah Police seized a large quantity of hashish from a car and arrested the driver as he tried to run away. When a police patrol became suspicious of the man driving a car Thursday in South Jeddah, they asked him to pull over. He refused and sped off as the officers gave chase. He then abandoned his car and attempted to flee on foot. When officers searched his car, an unspecified quantity of hashish was recovered from underneath the passenger and back seats.
