QASSIM — Al-Qassim Cricket League (AQCL) kicked off MoneyGram Cricket Ke Badshah T20 Tournament under the auspices of Saudi Cricket Centre (SCC) recently. Accoring to Zafar Hussain, AQCL President, 12 teams are taking part in the championship. Four matches were played in the inaugural week. Al-Doulia-XI lost to Sialkot Stallions by 4 wickets. Al-Doulia compiled 144 through Imran 51 and Sadaqat 29. Mudassir and Abdullah took 2 wickets each. Sialkot Stallions, in reply, reached 147-6 in the 19th over as Mudassir hit 19 and Imran made 26. Ateeq took 3 wickets. Al-Fateh-XI defeated Pak-XI Onaiza by 15 runs. A-Fateh amassed 190-5. Iftikhar and Shahbaz contributed 59 runs each and Naeem made 47. Dr. Rauf Jaan claimed 2 wickets. Pak-XI Onaiza managed 175-8. Abdulrehman made 71 and Dr. Rauf Jaan 48. Tahir claimed 3 wickets. In another encounter, Jaanbaaz Cricket Club downed Yamco by 27 runs. Jaanbaaz piled up 194-9 as Faiyyaz hit 83 and Tasadduq 39. Hamid grabbed 4 wickets and Zafar 2. Yamco, responding to the huge total was all out for 167. Yusuf scored 62 and Akram 22. Tasadduq chipped in with 3 wickets and Basharat 2. In the last match of the day, Shaheen-XI defeated Paradise by 82 runs. Shaheen scored 162-8 through Naeem 56 and Akbar 36. Zahid and Imran claimed 2 wickets each. Paradise, in reply, restricted to 80 as Mushtaq claimed 4 wickets. Tauseef and Noor Zaman took 3 and 2 wickets, respectively. — SG
