Aijaz Ahmed Khan JEDDAH — Mazco upset Desert Warrior, Hyderabad Green scored a narrow win over Pak Green while ARM continued its unbeaten run with a win over Tamer in the 3rd week matches of the JCA Premier League sponsored by MoneyGram under the auspices of Saudi Cricket Centre. ARM beat Tamer by 7 wickets. Tamer batsmen had no clue to the sharp bowling of ARM and could manage only 133 for 7. Rayees scored 30, Aqeel 22 and Arshad 23. Shahid bowled with fire taking 2 for 25, while Saadique Merchant claimed 2 for 29 and Nazeer Ahmed 2 for 6. In reply, ARM had no difficulty in chasing down the target which it did comfortably scoring 134 for the loss of 3 wickets. Pervez Khan with 56 not out, Athar 32 and Saadique Merchant 14 not out were among the runs. It was Pervez's third fifty of the season. Anwar provided the initial breakthrough taking 2 for 40, while Adnan picked up one wicket. Mazco beat Desert Warriors by 21 runs. Mazco amassed a total of 240 for 5 thanks to Faisal Khan's 85 off 42 balls (8 fours, 4 sixes) and Nasir scored an unbeaten 89 off 52 balls as the two thrashed Desert Warrior bowlers all over the ground. Waseem was the lone bowler to command respect, taking 2 for 37. In reply, Desert Warrior put up a spirited fightback with Waseem hitting 63 off 35 balls and Junaid 53 off 25 balls going for the kill. They were given good support by Jafar (32) and Abdul Quddus (25), but with the asking rate creeping up, they ended at 219 for 8. Nasir took 2 for 36, while Faisal, Tabassum, Sabir and Farhat claimed a wicket each. Hyderabad Green beat Pak Green by 6 runs. Hyderabad Green got off to a good start with Javed hitting a quick-fire 63 off 26 balls and Amer Gujjar chipping in with 61, while Amer Wahla played a cameo of an innings hitting 36 off 12 balls. Adnan took 5 for 39, while Rizwan took 2 for 38. Pak Green was all out for 223 runs. In reply, Pakistan Green's solid batting lineup was up to the task with Sajid batting aggressively with a polished 64 off 33 balls. He had good support from Shaan (34), Shahzad (33) to ensure they were in with a chance. Later, Adnan kept them in the hunt with an unbeaten 34, but Zaheer (2 for 42), Maqsood (2 for 39) and Amer Wahla (2 for 7) tightened the noose around them and bundled them out for 217 to give Hyderabad Green a narrow 6-run win.
