MAKKAH — A building in Makkah's Al-Nakkasah neighborhood that partially collapsed killed a machinery operator. Parts of the building, which was being demolished to make way for the second ring road development project, fell on the machinery and trapped the operator. Three Civil Defense rescue teams rushed to the site and recovered the operator's body, which was taken to a mortuary. Makkah Civil Defense spokesman, Maj. Saleh Al-Elayyani, said investigations by a team from the Makkah Municipality and consultancy offices are underway. Work on the building was halted pending the completion of investigations.
