MAKKAH — A fire at a mental hospital in Makkah's Al-Umrah district Thursday morning claimed one life, according to Makkah Civil Defense. Three people were also treated for smoke inhalation, said Makkah Civil Defense spokesman Maj. Saleh Al-Olayyani. Six Civil Defense teams attended the fire at the two-story King Abdulaziz Mental Health Hospital that broke out in an isolation room on the second floor. The blaze, which engulfed the furniture in the room, was controlled and extinguished. All patients and employees in the hospital were evacuated. — Badea Abu Al-Naja
