JEDDAH — The Civil Defense combated a huge fire that broke out in an industrial yard in north Jeddah where a large quantity of car tires was stored. Makkah Province Civil Defense spokesman Col. Saeed Sarhan said 11 teams of firefighters rushed to the site to bring the blaze under control. The yard, which covers an area of 3,500 square meters, was cordoned off as firefighters fought hard to prevent the fire from spreading. No injuries were reported and investigators have yet to determine the cause of the fire.
