MAKKAH — Search and investigation teams have detained five Asian expatriates suspected of being behind a string of recent robberies in Makkah. Police received information that four expatriates were forcing their victims into a car, driving to a secluded area and robbing them of their money and other belongings. Makkah Police spokesman Lt. Col. Abdulmuhsen Al-Maiman said search and investigation teams tracked the suspects who were operating between Makkah and Jeddah and arrested them. The suspects admitted to the robberies and two of them have previous criminal records. They were referred to the Bureau of Investigation and Public Prosecution (BIP) for further action.
