MAKKAH — Four expatriates were arrested for allegedly counterfeiting US dollar bills, Al-Hayat newspaper reported. The gang consisted of two Sudanese, a Somali and a Pakistani. They were operating out of an apartment in the Aziziyah neighborhood of Makkah. They were monitored by the counterfeiting team of the criminal investigation department of Makkah police and were arrested before they could dispose of any of the fake bills. They were caught with $100,000 in fake bills. Police also found counterfeiting equipment in the apartment. Spokesman for Makkah police Lt. Col. Abdulmuhsen Al-Maiman said the gang will be referred to the concerned bodies for investigations.
