JEDDAH — All is set for the Super Sixes with Hala Academy White, ALJ Toyota, Saad Farooqui CC (SFCC), Crown Blue, Al-Mazroi-XI and Attieh Steel getting through in the Hyundai Naghi Morning T20 Tournament at WPCA here recently.
Attieh Steel, batting against Al-Mazroi-XI, piled up 146-5 with Waseem Khan making unbeaten 54 in 32 balls with 3 fours and a six and Shahid Choudhry hitting 27. Mubeen took 2-21 and Irfan 2-36.
Al-Mazroi, undefeated so far in the tournament, was bowled out for 146 to tie the match. Faruk scored 31, Abdullah 33 and Salman 22. Aazam, Faiz and Tariq Butt took 2 wickets each.
Mercedes Benz, batting against SFCC, racked up 181-9 as Jibran slammed 98 in 58 balls with 13 fours. He added 162 with Saifu (38) to get to 170-1. Atif bamboozled them with a hat trick in a 5-wicket haul in two overs to reduce it to 181-9. Atif had figures of 2-1-9-5. SFCC, while chasing, was restricted to 151-8 to lose by 30 runs. Haroon made 36, while Tariq stroked 68 in 36 balls with 7 fours and a six and then Aleem grabbed 5 wickets in 5 balls for 32. Irfan got 2.
Hala Academy White Toyota piled up 182-3 against ALJ with Emad making 56 in 37 balls with 2 fours and a six. First he added 57 with Abdulmoeed (38) and 68 with Jahanzeb (34) to get to 182. Furkan stroked 34. Bilal took 2-34. In reply, ALJ Toyota was stranded at 141-9 to lose by 41 runs. Zahid made 33, Adil 25 and Imran Rana 20. Furqan, Safiuddin and Adil claimed 2 wickets each.
ATS tallied 168-7 against Jeddah Challengers as Naeem made 46 and Naeem Mohammed 47 and Dr. Basheer 20 not out. Omar took 3-38. Jeddah Challengers, in reply, fell short by 2 runs. Abubaker hit 21, Abdulaziz 41, Omer 32 and Hisham 34 n.o. Naeem took 2 wickets.
Rapidtech racked up a mammoth 220-5 against Jeddah Royals through Fahad 68 in 34 balls with the help of 8 fours and 3 sixes. He added 100 in 48 balls with Shoaib (44), while Tauseef made 37 and Naveed 32.
Jeddah Royals, chasing, could make only 176 to lose by 46 runs. Sohail Sarhandi blasted an unbeaten 108.
Haneefa Tigers plundered 152-5 against Kabbani CC with Omar Shareef making 51 in 32 balls with 5 fours and 3 sixes. Sarfaraz hit 19. Asad Ali grabbed 2-35. In reply, Kabbani CC was restricted to 148 to lose by 4 runs. Fiaz Ahmed smashed 63 in 50 balls with 4 fours and a six. He added 74 with Khaliluddin (19) and then 52 with Mohammed Umair (32).
In other matches, New Young Stars defeated Otex and Johnson Control conceded the match against QRCC.
In previous week's matches, Crown Blue thrashed Mercedes Benz by 117 runs, Stallions defeated MQ Group by 91 runs, Myaco downed Haneefa Tigers by 81 runs, QRCC won against Nesma Holding, Hala Academy White prevailed over ATS by 15 runs.
