YANBU – Firefighters from the Civil Defense evacuated 36 people from an apartment building that caught on fire on the Airport Road in Yanbu on Friday. Firefighters say the blaze started after furniture stored in the entrance of the building caught on fire. 36 occupants from the 6-story building were safely evacuated as firefighters battled the blaze. First aid was administered on site to a woman suffering from smoke inhalation. Col. Muhammad Al-Saedi, Director of Civil Defense in Yanbu, said there were no casualties or injuries and added that the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) would be investigating the incident.
