DAMMAM — Al-Khozama International School celebrated the 83rd Saudi National Day by hosting the Indo-Saudi Cultural Exhibition at the boys' and girls' sections. The chief guests at the boys' section was Hussain Maqbool, the academic supervisor of Ministry of Education, Eastern Province along with Saudi principal Abdul Haadi and school's Saudi representative Waleed Fahad Al–Huwaimel.
Vice Principal Jayaprakash Nair, Razi Shaikpareeth, Roshan and Stani shared the dais with the dignitaries.
Maqbool gave the program's inaugural speech in which he appreciated Indians for showing off such warmth and love to the Kingdom. Avi G. Mehta of grade 8B and Amaan Bunglowala of grade 7A anchored the program, which showed a presentation of Indo-Saudi costumes, Arabic and English speeches delivered by Asjad Bava of grade 8B an Timothy Biju Varghese of grade 8A respectively, and dances on Arabic songs by the Al- Khozamites. Salma, Arabic teacher, proposed the vote of thanks. In the girls' section, on the dais were Saudi principal Sana, facilitators and students from Al-Sharq International School, Rakkah and members of the PTA, who were welcomed by Headmistress Sajna.C.M, Leena Gogy and Betsy Nitto.Sana inaugurated the exhibition. Few verses from the Qur'an were recited by Sana Yaseen and the English translation by Sherin of grade 6A. The opening speech in the girls' section was given by Kulsum Abide grade 6A, who spoke on the importance of upholding strong feeling for the nation, and sharing culture that unites our mind and its relevance. Various cultural programs, including Arabic and Indian dances by students were quite a spectacle. A quiz was conducted by Jane Meren Johnson and Masooma of grade 6C. Master of the ceremony Nayan of grade 6C kept the ambiance lively throughout the day. Students enthusiastically participated and displayed charts, models, books, and showcased their technical skills with PowerPoint presentations. More than 100 Indian and Saudi mouth-watering dishes presented by students were the attractions at the event. The program also organized a book fair. The teaching and the non-teaching team under Shalima and Zareena made the event a great success. — SG
