The student cabinet of grades 6-8 welcomed the school principal Syed Masood Ahmed, vice principals of girls' and boys' sections, coordinators and headmistresses of various sections. The Athletic Meet began with the recitation of a few verses from the Qur'an followed by its translation. Head Girl Fazeela Rizvi of grade 12 presented a bouquet to the school principal, who then hoisted the sports flag. Rizvi then warmly welcomed the gathering and the participants. The march past students of the four houses — Red, Green, Blue and Yellow — were assembled on the ground led by the school cabinet. The sports flame that signifies the value of peace and brotherhood was lit followed by an oath taking ceremony. The sports secretary and the four house leaders took an oath to be fair and to participate with true sportsmanship sprit. The principal declared the Athletic Meet open. Some of the competitions held at the Meet were 100 meters race, relay, lemon and spoon for the teachers, three-legged race for the school cabinet, among others. The event came to an end by a “Lazium drill,” a spectacular show based on the folk dance of Maharashtra. The most awaited moment was the prize distribution ceremony. The Individual Championship was won by Anushree Anil Kumar (under 12 category) of grade 6 from Green House, Fahima Mohammed Umar (under 14 category) of grade 7 from Green House, Rasha Basheer (under 16 category) of grade 9 from Red House, Safa Siraj (under 19 category) of grade 12 from Yellow House. Overall House Championship for grade 6-8 was won by Red House with 120 points and Green House was the runner up with 98 points. Blue House stood first in the House Championship for grade 9 - 12 followed by Green House with 163 points. — SG
