JEDDAH — Saudi Aramco brought back traditions in Eid for the 300 children from charitable societies of children with special needs and orphans who attended a festival it hosted with the participation of Social Affairs in the Western Province. Bringing back traditions was the theme of the festival which witnessed the emergence of traditional local foods, clothing and traditional social responsibility, which has annually invited countless smiles on the faces of attending children from these charitable societies in Jeddah. More than 5,000 people visited and participated in the event including volunteers from Majid Society for Development and Social Services. The children also enjoyed educational gifts distributed to them and a photograph for each to commemorate the occasion, all in an atmosphere of joy and celebrations. The festival was also attended by Sameer Nasruddin, Manager of Saudi Aramco Affairs in the Western Province and the Director General of Social Affairs in Makkah area. Nasruddin said: "Saudi Aramco is interested in bringing joy to children of special needs and orphans and to include them in every social activity; a practice that Saudi Aramco has been performing annually for many years." "We have also been focusing on involving volunteers to participate in such events in order to activate and promote the concept of voluntarism," Nasruddin added. The Director General of Social Affairs congratulated Saudi Aramco for its active role in including special children and orphans in its annual events. He said: "This is not a new practice of Saudi Aramco. We have become accustomed to such social practice as they are part of our all year-round events that are worthy of the reputation of this company that educate, entertain and develop participating children." — SG
