Nadia Al-Fawaz Saudi Gazette ABHA — Asir Municipality inspectors late Saturday confiscated a quantity of rotten meat and chicken from a restaurant and a number of cafeterias on the city's Al-Arbaeen Street in the Al-Mansak District. Nasser Yahya, a municipality supervisor, said through their daily inspection rounds, inspectors Yahya Al Mar'i and Ahmad Al-Shihri seized a quantity of rotten meat from refrigerators at the restaurant and cafeterias. They also found a very large quantity of spiced chicken in several buckets. The chicken was stored in a warm environment when it should have been kept chilled. There was also a quantity of overused frying oil. It was noticed that the restaurant did not comply with a number of health and safety regulations, while its seven workers did not have any uniform on. Ali Saeed Al-Haj, the director in charge of the inspectors, issued directives to tighten supervision of shops and restaurants, especially during the summer season when temperatures are high and there is more demand for food from these restaurants.
