Municipality inspectors on Sunday busted a warehouse for rotten meat in Jeddah's old district of Al-Saheifa. The warehouse was being run by Asian workers. A wooden cart pushed by an Asian worker attracted the attention of municipality inspectors. They followed the worker only to discover big quantity of rotten meat. The dirty, ramshackle warehouse contained meat that violated all health criteria – livers, kidneys and hearts stored in dirty, unhygienic conditions. The workers in the warehouse did not have any health certificates either. The municipality is keeping an eye on restaurants which dealt with the seized warehouse. Meanwhile, a joint campaign in Haraj Al-Sawareekh in southern part of Jeddah resulted in the seizure of a large quantity of expired foodstuffs damaged clothes and furniture. According to Engineer Awadh Al-Malki, head of southern Jeddah Municipality, security personnel seized 20 tipper trucks carrying damaged and expired sponge, foodstuff, used clothes and spurious shampoos and creams. – Okaz – With reporting by Yasmin Al-Hamad from Jeddah __
