Abdul Rahman Al-Ali Saudi Gazette MAKKAH – Inspection teams of Al-Sharayeh Municipality of Makkah have confiscated 3,000 kilograms of rotten meat stored in a warehouse at Al-Sharayeh district. The meat was going to be sold at cheap prices to different restaurants during the Haj season. The meat was not stored probably and was found inside an unhygienic warehouse. All workers inside the warehouse fled when the municipality's inspectors raided the warehouse. The impounded meat together with 2,000 cartons containing expired milk, ice cream, and other foodstuffs have been destroyed. Dr. Waleed Milibari, who headed the inspection team, was surprised at the large quantity of stored meat and how callously it was going to be sold to restaurants by the workers despite the fact they knew that the meat was not good for human consumption. The head of the municipality said the owner of the warehouse and the workers would be penalized in accordance with the laws and regulations. He urged citizens not to rent warehouses or even houses to such workers who do not have a shred of honesty and integrity. “Heavy fines will be imposed on any violators."
