JEDDAH — A large number of members of the Pakistani community and parents of the students bubbling with patriotic fervor and enthusiasm participated in the promising patriotic campaign of creating the flag of Pakistan with thumb impressions in flag colors -white and green. Each thumb impression manifests the resolve that, “We are committed to keep the flag of Pakistan flying high.” The flag aims to be the largest flag of Pakistan created with the thumb impressions. The campaign has been initiated by Senator Sehar Kamran, the school principal. Every person who entered PISJ-ES genuinely felt the essence of Pakistan and the pride for it was felt from every corner. This campaign had proven to make every Pakistani compatriot feel the unity even more as a proud nation. The participants in the campaign included patriotic Pakistanis from different walks of life and different age groups, from 20-day-old infants to A-level students. It was a moment of pride that the patriotic campaign also included Saudi citizens and guests. The Editor-in-Chief of Urdu News, Tariq Miskhas, who was present also put his thumb impression. Miskhas in his remarks said that Kingdom of Saudi Arabia enjoys a special relationship with Pakistan, based on the solid foundations of Islamic identity, common historical experiences and shared perceptions on all national and international issues. Kamran said: “Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have strong brotherly relations and deep rooted bonds of love and respect. “King Abdullah is highly respected by all Pakistanis, when we pray for the prosperity, progress and peace of Pakistan, we also pray for protection, sovereignty and stability of Saudi Arabia. “The presence of our Saudi guests here today reflects the true bond of affection and everlasting brotherly hood.” PISJ-ES stands as a strong icon of Pakistan in Saudi Arabia. It is recognized as one of the leading educational institutions in the Middle East. One of the unique features of PISJ-ES is that it reflects true patriotic colors and demonstration of love for Pakistan. An official unveiling of the flag will take place on Thursday at the school premises in the evening. — SG
