Pakistan International School Jeddah (English section) started a two-week long campaign titled, “We are a nation that stands tall”, with the aim to make the students realize the importance of independence and loving and serving their country. The campaign started on May 14 and will continue through to May 25, where the students are asked to take a pledge to serve their country every day and also express their patriotism and national spirit wearing the colors of the flag, painting their faces, and donning caps, sashes and shirts with the Pakistani flag. “The theme of the campaign is that we are a nation with one vision and one identity. Together we stand tall, together we stand united and we are proud to be Pakistanis,” said Saher Kamran, Principal of PISJ. “During the campaign, the students in the morning assembly will participate in different activities where they will share relevant historical events, quotes, poems and national songs. All students will be encouraged to wear badges, caps, wristbands of the Pakistani flag,” she added. Students from Nursery to grade 9 are also encouraged to participate in a multi-platform competition, which includes drawing, painting, writing essays and poems, on a specific topic like ‘how will I serve my country?'. The winners will receive grand prizes from the school. “These students are the future of our country. They have to represent Pakistan in the world tomorrow and the future of our great nation lies in their hands. That's why we request all the parents to kindly support the campaign by encouraging their children. We highly value your cooperation and patriotic contribution,” said Kamran. “We love our country and we will do whatever is possible for our country, in the form of soldiers, good doctors, engineers, cricketers, scientists, workers, businessmen, and social workers,” said the students.
