RIYADH — In implementation to the directives of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman, a medical team has arrived on Sunday in a medical evacuation plane at Aden Airport in southern Yemen to transport the Yemeni conjoined twins Mawaddah and Rahma to Riyadh. The medical staff arrived in Aden to diagnose the condition of the 3-month-old twins Mawaddah and Rahma and to conduct initial examinations in preparation for the separation operation. It is noteworthy that the process of separating the conjoined twins in the stomach, intestines and liver, will take place during the coming days at the National Guard's King Abdulaziz Medical City in Riyadh. The doctor supervising the Siamese twins' case at Al-Sadaqa Hospital in Aden has confirmed that after informing the King Salman Relief Center (KSrelief), the workers did not hesitate to provide assistance and referred the case to King Salman. The family of the Siamese twins Mawaddah and Rahma has thanked the Kingdom's initiative to conduct the separation operation. This would be the 51st surgical separation of conjoined twins, carried out in Saudi Arabia.
