LuLu launches Ramadan initiatives
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 14 - 04 - 2021

As the country approaches the second holy month practiced with social distancing and safety rules amid the COVID-19 since last year, LuLu has presented its Ramadan-themed campaign that highlights retail promotions and charity activities.
LuLu Ramadan kits launched
In an effort to improve customers' experience and to make shopping easy and affordable during Ramadan, LuLu introduced its pre-packed Ramadan kit for SR99, which is specially created for essential shopping and donation.
In partnership with Saudi Food Bank, these kits along with the iftar boxes (priced at SR15 each) will be distributed to the needy and charity groups.
The agreement was signed between Abdul Rahman Al-Huzaimi, regional manager of Saudi Food Bank in Riyadh region, and Bashar Al Besher, administration director of LuLu Saudi Hypermarkets, in the presence of Shehim Muhammed, director of LuLu Saudi Hypermarkets, LuLu officials, and honorable guests.
These kits are priced much lesser than the regular market price and have grocery products, such as rice, milk powder, sugar, oil, etc. LuLu Ramadan Kits are available across all LuLu stores and online via www.luluhypermarket.com.
Shehim Mohammed said: "As the current pandemic situation continues to restrict the majority with smaller gatherings and more people staying at home, we launched products offers and Ramadan kits to make grocery shopping easier and more convenient.
"Our promotion sections in stores are fuller and wider with lots of product essentials offered with great discounts. The same offers are also boosted in our online shopping with deals and promotions to ensure safe shopping for those who do not want to buy from stores."
Apart from the kits, LuLu is set to launch traditional food stations that highlight Meat Fest, Dates & Nuts, Iftar Delights, and Dessert Festival. Moreover, LuLu introduces Souk Al Fawakeh to provide customers with fresh fruits and vegetables at competitive prices in bulk packages. It features 30 exotic fruits for the entire month.
With a global network of food sourcing offices along with its e-commerce fulfillment center in the country, LuLu has guaranteed well-stocked stores on ground and online during the holy month.
Ramadan Iftar & Suhoor card
#SpreadGoodness
Keeping in the spirit of giving for the holy month, LuLu launched Ramadan-themed card, which is available at SR15 & SR150.
Abdulla Hamdan, marketing manager of LuLu Hypermarkets Saudi Arabia, said: "We're glad to launch these Ramadan themed cards for our customers, in line with our goal to make their shopping experience unique especially during important occasions like Ramadan.
"Since gathering in large groups for iftar is restricted to prioritize the health and safety of everyone, this card is a perfect choice for gifting. It is a convenient way to show your loved ones that you remember them and care for them in the midst of these challenging times."
The card is valid for use till May 13, 2021, and can be used multiple times in several transactions until the total value of the card has been consumed.
Iftar Boxes
#SharingHappiness
In collaboration with Saudi Food Bank, LuLu launched iftar boxes featuring convenient packs of after-fasting essential meals that customers can buy for SR15 each. There is also an option to donate SR15 through the cash counters. Saudi Food Bank will be distributing the iftar boxes to the needy and charity groups who reach out to those in need.
Besides being well-known for its wide product range and outstanding customer service, LuLu has always been a key promoter of social initiatives, sustainability, and environment protection across the globe. Over the years, the region's top retailer has initiated many projects towards these advocacies and will continue to do so in the future.
Lulu Supports Kayl to Fight Obesity
In collaboration with Kayl association for combating obesity, LuLu launched Health is Wealth campaign to raise awareness on obesity and its risks to health along with the importance of limiting its spread among the community. For every purchase of healthy iftar and suhoor meal, 5% will be donated to the charitable organization.
As part of the campaign, LuLu highlights a specialty selection of healthy imported products that cater to the growing consumer market for organic, free-from range, and diet-specific products across its stores. Special menus inspired from cuisines around the world will be featuring keto and organic dishes from the hot food stations of LuLu as well.
To further promote this campaign, LuLu will be hosting a video series of daily tips from credible fitness coaches and healthy recipes from the Ministry of Health and Kayl. — SG
