ABU DHABI — The United Arab Emirates on Friday registered 283 new coronavirus cases, pushing the total number of COVID-19 infections in the country to 60,506, the Ministry of Health and Prevention said in a statement carried by WAM. The ministry announced two more deaths from complications due to the coronavirus infection, taking the total number of virus-related fatalities in the country to 351. The ministry also announced that a total of 283 recovered after receiving the necessary treatment, raising the total number of recoveries to 53,909. The newly infected patients, all of whom are in a stable condition and receiving necessary medical care, were identified after the ministry conducting 54,727 additional coronavirus tests among different segments of the society over the past few days, according to the statement. The ministry expressed its sincere condolences to the families of the deceased and wished a speedy recovery to all patients. It urged the public to cooperate with health authorities and follow all precautionary measures, particularly social distancing regulations, to ensure the safety and protection of the public.
