ABU DHABI — The United Arab Emirates on Friday recorded 473 new coronavirus cases over the past 24 hours, taking the total number of confirmed COVID-19 infections in the country to 54,050, according to a statement from the Ministry of Health and Prevention carried by WAM. The new cases, who are in stable health conditions and receiving the necessary care, were detected after the health authorities conducted more than 47,000 additional COVID-19 tests among UAE citizens and residents over the past few days, the ministry said. The ministry announced a total of 399 more patients have completely recovered from the disease after receiving the necessary treatment, taking the total number of recoveries in the UAE to 43,969. The ministry announced two more deaths from complications caused by the deadly virus, raising the total number of coronavirus-related fatalities in the country to 330. The ministry expressed its sincere condolences to the families of the deceased and wished a speedy recovery to all patients. It urged the public to cooperate with health authorities and follow all precautionary measures, particularly social distancing protocols, to ensure the safety and protection of the public.
