KUWAIT CITY — Kuwait recorded 770 new coronavirus cases over the past 24 hours, taking the total number of confirmed infections in the country so far to 65,149, the Ministry of Health said in a statement on Tuesday, carried by Kuwait News Agency. Of the new cases, there were 519 Kuwaitis citizens and 251 expatriates from different countries, according to the Health Ministry's spokesman Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad. Most of the new cases were in contact with previously infected people while the source of infection for others is still being investigated, Al-Sanad said. The ministry also announced four more deaths from complications caused by COVID-19, bringing the total number of virus-related fatalities in the country to 442. There were 124 patients receiving necessary medical care in intensive care units, the spokesman added. Al-Sanad claimed that a total of 4,73coronavirus 2 additional tests were conducted over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of tests to 94,289. Earlier in the day, the health ministry also said that 624 more patients recovered from the deadly virus over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of recoveries to 55,681. Kuwait has recently eased stringent coronavirus virus and will enter the third phase plan of restoring normal life on July 28.
