KUWAIT CITY — Kuwait on Thursday reported 909 new coronavirus cases and two more deaths from the virus, taking the total number of infections and fatalities in the country 42,788 and 339 respectively, according to a statement from the country's health ministry. Of the newly detected cases, 479 are Kuwaiti citizens and 430 are expatriates from different countries, Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad, the official spokesperson of the health ministry, said in a press conference. Currently, there are patients 152 receiving treatment at intensive care wards, the spokesman said. The health authorities conducted 3,286 coronavirus tests in the past 24 hours, raising the total number of COVID-19 tests in the country to 368,510, Dr. Al-Sanad added. Earlier in the day, the Health Ministry said that a total of 558 patients have recovered from the deadly disease, bringing the total number of recoveries in the country to 33,367.
