RIYADH — Saudi Arabia on Friday recorded 3,938 new coronavirus cases, taking the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the Kingdom to 174,577, according to a statement from the Ministry of Health. The ministry also announced 46 more virus-related deaths, raising the total number of fatalities in the Kingdom to 1,474. Meanwhile, a total of 2,589 more patients have completely recovered from the deadly disease, bringing the total number of recoveries in the country to 120, 471. Of the new cases Dammam, Al Hufuf, Al Mobaraz and Khamis Mushait reported 346, 332, 294 and 274 new infections respectively. There has been a recent spike in the number of cases in places where a relatively low number of cases were reported earlier. On the other hand, Riyadh has seen a drop in the number of new cases with 217 being reported on Friday while Jeddah recorded 243 and Al Qatif saw 237 new COVID-19 cases.
